Het is een kans je bewust te worden van patronen die je beperken en spanning geven en te ontdekken hoe je meer vrijheid, vitaliteit en lichtheid kunt ervaren in ieder moment van de dag. De bowspring methode bestaat uit revolutionaire oefeningen gericht op je houding voor optimale gezondheid! Bowspring is een dynamische, open houding met curves.

This is a 10-hour introductory workshop for the Bowspring – a new approach for functional posture for all levels of students – beginners to yoga teachers and fitness instructors – are welcomed to experience the transformative and therapeutic power of the Bowspring.

The Bowspring is a curvy shape of readiness, which brings lightness and openness to any position. In this weekend workshop, students will learn how to make any movement or common posture like standing, sitting, or walking, fluid and dynamically powerful for optimal functionality and radiant health.

The Bowspring is a universal postural template that optimizes any movement — yoga, athletics, or simply moving around in our daily life—for greater lightness, agility, ease, and power. This dynamic alignment method is also highly therapeutic for any musculo-skeletal issues including lower back problems, hip pain, knee or shoulder injuries.

desi 2This workshop is composed of 5 classes that progressively lead students of all levels though the most basic forms and movements of this dynamic postural method.

In each class, students will be taught katas – set sequences of simple, repeated movements which will unveil their unconscious postural patterns. With new awareness of our habitual body language through an increased postural presence, we can bring increasing balance to our mind-health health. With this new postural technology, we gain the freedom to choose a healthier, more positive body language that we communicate not only to others, but to the deepest part of ourselves.

Students will learn about the 10 universal postural tendencies which unconsciously draw us toward a closed posture throughout our normal day. The Bowspring method integrates a mindfulness training with the cultivation of compassion and accountability to help us create our own individual destiny. In this weekend, you can gain a transformative shift in self-knowing, which can reveal a path toward harmony and long-term health. The Bowspring is movement medicine which cleanses fear and bolsters courage.

desi 3 Desi and John will help each student learn the Bowspring considering everyone’s unique alignment and particular limitations. The most basic elemental forms of the Bowspring system will be presented along with dynamic postures within the Level 1 Syllabus.

About Desi Springer
Desi Springer is the innovator of the BowspringTM postural system. Desi taught modern postural yoga from 1998 to 2012, and now is sharing the Bowspring practice to a global community. Over the last 3 years, Desi has taught over 100 Bowspring seminars in 8 countries while maintaining weekly classes at her Vital studio in Denver. She now co-owns Vital – Center for Mind-Body Health – with her sister, Micah. The Springer sisters have been successful yoga studio owners in Colorado since 1999.

About John Friend
John Friend has been a student of philosophy, physics and mind-body health for over 40 years. John has taught over 800 yoga seminars in 30 countries since 1990. He founded Anusara yoga in 1997, which became an internationally popular school of modern postural yoga with one of the highest teaching standards in the industry.
In 2013, John joined forces with Desi Springer and helped systematize her Bowspring postural method of Sridaiva. Currently, John lives in Denver, Colorado. He teaches at Vital – Center for Mind-Body Health, as well as maintains an international teaching tour with Desi Springer year-round.
